Techniques

   Hand-Painted Black & White
Oil paints especially made for photographs are applied directly
to the print by hand, using cotton balls & Q-tips. Colored pencils
   are used for detailed areas.
   Sepia

Black & white photographs are toned with a warm brownish or
amber color, for a timeless or antique effect.
   Soft Edges
A filter is used that makes the edges fuzzy for a "dreamy" look.
 Diffusion
A slight soft focus is created with a filter - this smoothes out imperfections.
   Manipulated Polaroid

Polaroid photos in which the print is rubbed by hand with a
burnisher-type tool, for an impressionistic effect. These are
then enlarged -either as a laser print or as a Cibachrome print
    (now Ilfochrome), from a 4" X 5" transparency.
